WHO WE ARE
The Financial District Lions Club “NY FIDI LIONS CLUB” is a New York Chapter of the International Association of Lions Clubs, "Lions Clubs International" (LCI, a/k/a LIONS), world's largest not-for-profit 501c4 NGO (Non-Government Organization) founded in 1917. LIONS has a network of over 1.45 Million volunteers men and women who enjoy taking an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of their communities; promote the principles of good government and good citizenship while developing personal friendship that goes beyond borders.
Friendship made in Lionism last a lifetime because they are based on a commitment of services.
WORKING TOGETHER
Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired, championed youth initiatives and strengthened local communities through hands-on service and humanitarian projects.
WHAT THE NY FIDI LIONS DO?
Fidi Lions has a proud history of achievement. Since it was charter in 2011 we provided Disaster and Emergency Relief Services; Volunteering and fundraising for Children and Animal causes; Conducted Fundraising Drives and Donated Medical emergency needs; Ongoing recycling for sight and hearing aids Services; Mentor children at risk with the New York State Mentoring Program; Volunteer with USO and donated to children of soldiers; Sponsored Blind Fishermen, During COVID-19 decontaminated the vehicles of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital medical staff; Fundraised to support the First WBSC International Baseball for the Blind Cup airfare and travel expenses to compete in Beek, the Netherlands in 2022; and other Services in support to our community, New York and around the world; in support to VISION, we formed a Specialty Branch, the "NY FiDi Lions Blind Sports League" a/k/a New York Lions Adaptive Blind Baseball "NYLIONS-BB" TEAM, whose members are Blind and Visual Impaired men and women who play B4B invented in Italy under AIBxC.
OUR MISSION
The Mission of the New York Financial District Lions Club, is to foster friendships and understanding among business executives and professional leaders of our community and the world, who share the same interest, while helping our community needs, promote charitable fundraising events for worthy causes we like to support, and support the mission of Lions Clubs International around the world.
VISION
We are hopeful to see a world where all man are treated equally, regardless of race, religion and political views.
And in sharing the vision of Lions Clubs International of “Friendship and International Understanding,” we welcome Lions from around the world to visiting with us when traveling to New York and join us in Celebration of "Peace, Friendship and International Understanding" in the evenings of LDUN.
